All Star Storytime
All Star Storytime for Children with ASD

a special opportunity for parents of young children with ASD to experience a library storytime with their child.
Our monthly program is modeled after a traditional library preschool storytime with the addition of adapted/enhanced materials for learning storytime skills. Our goal is to encourage and prepare families and children for participation in all age-appropriate library programs.
We have collaborated with professionals from Mailman Segal Institute’s Baudhuin Preschool and UM-NSU CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) to create this pilot program. Monthly pre-registration is limited to 8 children, with their parents or other caregiver.
We will be asking for input from participating parents in helping us shape and enhance this exciting new library-based program, which is unique to our area. We would greatly value any information and suggestions you can share with us on our evaluation forms.
All Star Storytime is for children ages 3-5 years old, who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. A child must be accompanied by a parent or other primary caregiver, who will be an active participant with the child.
All Star Storytime is offered once a month, usually on the 2nd Saturday, throughout the school year. Pre-registration is required and will begin approximately 2 weeks before each session.
Class size is limited to 8 children with ASD, and their caregiver/parent.
