Collaborative Study Room

This space is designed specifically for social learning, collaborative study, and group work. Each room is outfitted with state of the art technology as well as comfortable and flexible furnishings that encourage the sharing of ideas. Seating is made to be pushed around, and you can connect multiple devices simultaneously to large screen monitors.

  • Each room is outfitted with access to state of the art monitors and connections and comfortable and flexible furnishings that encourage sharing of ideas.
  • You’ll be able to use your own laptops, tablets, and smart phone devices and be simultaneously connected to large screen monitors so your documents, images, video, or websites can be shared.
  • You can work in small or large groups because the seating is easily movable.


Room 3078: Available on a first come, first served basis. You have to be in a group to use this room. If you are solo, we have individual study carrels, computer stations, and tables on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the Library.

Room 3079: This is a special room also available for groups up to 6, but it can only be reserved by booking online at: http://sherman.library.nova.edu/rooms/

You will need a current NSU SharkCard or Alvin Sherman Library Card to book this room.

Here's What You Need to Know

  • Talk away... but be mindful and respectful of others. In other words, use your indoor voices! If you want to talk on your cell, use the designated cell phone area outside the Collaborative Study Room.
  • We know you get hungry and thirsty, but food or drink isn’t allowed. You can go to the Taft University Center Food Court or the West End Ave Deli on the 1st floor of the Sherman Library instead.
  • Feel comfortable and secure knowing these spaces are outfitted with security cameras, an emergency intercom, and public phone connected to the circulation desk.
  • These rooms are open during regular Sherman Library hours.
  • You must be 18 years or older to use the room. Anyone younger can use the public computers on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors, the children’s computer lab or the Teen Room in Public Library Services on the 1st floor.
