This page will give you step-by-step instructions with images to help you learn how to download an ebook in RBdigital.
Go to the RBdigital database on the databases section of the Alvin Sherman Library website and then sign-in to it using your SharkLink ID or your Alvin Sherman Library public card. Once you sign in you should get the screen below. The links to register an account or sign in once inside the database are in the upper right corner. Note: If you find an ebook or or e-audiobook (from RBdigital) in our catalog you would want to jump to step two.
Once in the OneClickDigital database you need to have a free account in that product.
If you already have an account in OneClickDigital click the "sign in" link in the upper left corner of the screen (as shown in the box above). You should then see a signin box to login (shown below left).
If you do not have an account click, the "register" link and fill out the online form to create an account (shown below center).

Step three is very important. You must have an app to download the ebooks.
If you are using desktop computer you need to get the desktop app (Adobe Digital Editions) to download the ebooks onto your computer.
Below is the link where you can create an Adobe account and download Adobe Digital Editions if you are using a desktop computer:
If you are using a tablet or some type of (mobile) device such as a Kindle Fire HD, ipad, or similar product you must download the OneClickDigital app from the Android, Apple or Kindle app store on your device. Basically go to the app store on your device search for "oneclickdigital" and download the "OneClickDigital" app.
NOTE: The OneClickDigital downloading for Amazon Kindle works only for the Amazon Kindle Fire (HD) it does not work on the older models.
Once you find a book you want in RBdigital, click or tap on the title or image of the ebook. You should then get a screen like this one below. It provides an image of the book cover, a description of the book and if the book is available for checkout there is a button on right that says, "checkout now". It also provides a range of checkout times to select from, anywhere from 1 day to 21 days. (The default is 21 days.) To download the book just click or tap the "checkout now" button.
Sometimes you may run across a title that is already checked out. You will know it is checked out because when you click or tap on the title instead of the "checkout" button you get a "hold" button. Use the "hold" button to request the ebook and once it becomes available you will be contacted so you can download your library ebook.
When you do click the "checkout" button you should get a pop-up screen asking you to download/open the item in the app. Pick which application you wanted to use. The two recommended ones are: RBdigital OR Bluefire Reader.
Once you select the program or app to open the ebook, the ebook should open in that application for you to read. If you have any problems or questions please feel free and contact the library. The reference desk number is 954-262-4613 and the email is firstname.lastname@example.org
If the ebook database is giving you an error message please contact the library so we can report the problem or issue. Thanks.
