Alvin Sherman Library Information

To navigate campus and locate the Alvin Sherman Library refer to the directions and parking locations. The interactive campus map also shows you where the library is on campus. ‚ÄčYour RI Parking Pass must be on your car dashboard while you are parked on campus. In the gated areas you will need your NSU ID SharkCard to open the gate. You may receive a fine if you don't follow procedures and park in the appropriate areas. Contact NSU Campus Card Services if you need to obtain or replace the SharkCard. You also need your SharkCard to check out library materials, and it helps in the printing process. If you check out any books, videos, games, etc. while you are on-campus please return them before you leave or make plans to ship the items back to campus (at your own expense). Some of the reserve items only check out for a few hours. You will be fined for materials not returned. Not paying fines can result in loss of privileges.

Printing, Scanning, and using Computers on Campus

Alvin Sherman Library Options

Reserve a study room either online or by using the computer near the 1st Floor Circulation Desk in the Alvin Sherman Library. You will check out your room key and room supplies (such as white board markers) from the Circulation Desk. There are various study areas in the library that do not require a key. Ask questions and get the map of the floors!

Stop by the Alvin Sherman Library's lab reception desk on the 1st Floor to get help setting up your wireless internet access (NSU account) and learn which labs you have access to on campus. If you need to use a laptop within the library and did not bring yours there are laptops that check out.

Other services in the library: self-service photocopiers, a digital scanner on the 2nd floor, machines for adding money to cards, a public safety desk (contact point for lost and found, directions, and other issues), vending machines, and a deli.
